BET Awards nominations are always completely terrible. Where is Kelly Rowland? Rihanna had a WAY bigger year last year than Beyonce, why do the nominations reflect the reverse? Why isn’t Ledisi nominated? I’ll tell you why: BET likes who they like and it is what it is, but it’s never a reflection of the black people who have truly been winning in the previous 12 months, as usual. A mess.

      May 22, 2012 at 5:56 pm

Video of the year is a mess, I love Rihanna but R&B Her and Beyonce should not be in the category. And What the fuck is with these Beyonce nominations, they are just begging her to attend… GET READY FOR THE BET awards, B.e.t. actually stands for Beyonce Etertainment television, but still….

    6. Ben M. says:
      May 22, 2012 at 6:01 pm

So… No other videos came out in 2011? lmaooooooooo Welp go head Bey and Jay. I guess they want Bey to come to the show this year huh? :gags:

Poor Rih. Despite not having a number 1 album, her WFL video wa great and she was totally shunned. And the EBT Awards was supposed to be Kelendria’s night to shine… lol Oooops oh well. Maybe next time.

    7. V says:
      May 22, 2012 at 6:02 pm

They nominate the big names so they will come n perform and ratings will be high. No one is gonna tune in if the headliner is Ledesi, point blank.

    8. Kingphoenix says:
      May 22, 2012 at 6:17 pm

      @Ben M.
What #1 album is that? LMFAO….Rihanna does not cater to black audience, or does not perform for Bet Awards…why should they nominate her for anything. She lucky she got dat.

Beyonce is a R&B artist and she deserves that nomination…As for all that other shit, we know why they gave Beyonce those nominations. She is the King of the BET awards, the best thing to happen to the award show. Haters will deal, and Beyonce will shine.

4 and Beyonce Bravo has is a great album and she had two song numbers on the charts rnb love on top and party, and if I’m wrong rihanna fans here saying that this was not important charts rnb
and now the idiots complain because their rithard hoe is not enough if nominated and it performed so much better to our ears
I hope there will beyoncé by cons and what gives us a good performance

lol you act as if it’s Beyonce who made the appointment
Beyonce has not been nominated or can very and had the grammys’ s only two nominated for the billboard do not know anyone here complaining instead you rejoice because she was put aside for once
I am really sorry for kelly but I will not blame Beyonce for her again she is not making the appointment
kelly fans accuse Beyonce of all the misfortune of kelly
kelly does not sell is beyoncé she is not doing its promo it is the fault has beyoncé excuse me but kelly has 31 years what took his career and his fans all day without too blame beyoncé

when you and your fans ritharde you’re pathetic last year you did seem to support kelly just to spite the fans of Beyonce but when her album came out you are not going to support it
and you start a call flop
and now you made the same thing just because rihanna was nominated only once, and even for what this hoe is nominated it does not rnb it would give the place a kelly

    12. TinaMinaj says:
      May 22, 2012 at 6:46 pm

I think Nicki’s award can be mailed to her right now coz that’s a given lol. And LMFAO at those Video of the year noms but what’s with bringing up Rihanna??? She never attends the BET’s and is always desperately trying to cater for white audiences only so she can run along. Bey has ALWAYS done rnb even if the singles wouldn’t do the best because that is what she loves…

Rih paid her urban fans dust this era. Im not surprised. Her most urban album and she paid the targeted audience dust particles. She got what she deserved

    16. olly_tei says:

Best video, love on top?!? Countdown is deserving though. Also Alan Furgerson did a terrible job with dance for you, he shouldn’t of been nominated. These awards are a joke

      May 22, 2012 at 8:00 pm

Y’all are very shady. Stop the bullshit. Beyonce did not deserve all of those nominations. I’m not rihnavy or beyhive. Speaking from a neutral mindset, y’all are being biased as hell. For Love on Top to be nominated over a Rihanna video is disrespectful. That video was probably her worst. She is taking over all of these awards and it’s clear that they want her to come. BET is known for this biased bullshit. Beyonce didn’t even have a better year than rihanna singles wise. And rihanna’s album went #1 overseas. Know your facts, it’s only the states that didn’t get her to #1. With all of that aside. I love bey and rih. But Jesus, these nominations ARE a hot ass mess. Beyhives, sit your cocky asses down and stop being biased. We All know bey is the “queen”, but be real. These nominations are ridiculous.

    19. Kim says:
      May 22, 2012 at 8:23 pm

I am a beyonce fan, but I have to admit that this year was not a beyonce year like her last album. BET is known to kiss a little tail when it comes to beyonce and jay-z. They are a lot more artists that they can nominate beside just beyonce.

    20. pisces2g says:
      May 22, 2012 at 8:33 pm

I am so embarrassed by this award ceremony…. I really wish musicians would boycott this shit its such a parody of every award ceremony, and black ppl just happen to be the driving force behindthis, so sad

    21. DOMOdotSCORE says:
      May 22, 2012 at 8:40 pm

BET has always had terrible nominations but this year takes the cake. The thirst is so evident, BET needs to get sponsered by Sprite so that they can quench that thirst. Estelle and Jill Scott should be nominated in best female r&b. They need to make a best pop artist category. More people should’ve been in the Video of the Year category. They should suspend the female rap category until there are more people (making major moves) to nominate. The youngstars category is unnecessary. There is just so much wrong with these nominations, they need new people, seriously.

    22. Gene says:
      May 22, 2012 at 9:02 pm

Agree with you guys, I want to know who is giving the Donna Summer and Whitney houston tributes??? I am afraid to ask, if this is the nominees, who are they going to get to give the voice the ultimate tribute? smdh, BET aka EBT failed once again.

    23. Kingphoenix says:
      May 22, 2012 at 9:14 pm

      @Leya

You are forgetting that this award is for black music…R&B and Hip-Hop…Rihanna does neither, except when she does a feature here and there. I could see if you were saying that a Jill Scott, or Melanie Fiona, or Estelle or something other than Rihanna would deserve more nominations but… You are saying Rihanna is being disrespected? Really, no, your bias is showing. Rihanna and BET dont mix. BET should not make a Pop category because that would be a symptom of white-washing. People are complaining about Beyonce this and Beyonce that…when they did the samething for Chris Brown last year. #neaux1curr. We just want to see Beyonce perform. I think this year has all the ingredients of being the best show yet. If they get Bey, the Throne, and don’t fuck up the Whitney tribute…things will go great.

Bet ingore Kelly for Beyonce but Kelly will actually show
up. Beyonce will do a video like she did last, or make
an excuse why won’t be there. J-zay won’t come either
he is busy promoting Rita Ora. I don’t Why Bet is trying
to get the big name Stars when they consider BET
as a lesser award show with no importantance.

    27. rorymaynor says:
      May 22, 2012 at 11:01 pm

      @Kingphoenix
but to be honest, Rihanna does both pop and r&b. her pop songs are always played on pop stations and her R&b SONGS (BIRTHDAY CAKE, TALK THAT TALK, AND TAKE CARE WITH DRAKE) keep her on urban stations. that’s why she’s always nominated in the r&b categories at these award shows. But some people don’t realize that when her music is played on BLACK/URBAN stations, that makes it R&B

    28. JustMe_Andria29 says:
      May 23, 2012 at 1:17 am

Who’s coming up with these nominations? I’ll definitely be fast forwarding through the entire show because I know BET is not going to put any effort into this.

Gosh…will this trini fcuk ever get off Queen B’s clit? A day never goes by without him throwing shade @ the Queen. All your shade is misdirected, Beyonce did not put a gun on anyones head…pull your head out of Mariah’s ass and you would see that your venom should be directed @ BET and not Beyonce. The same goes for all these other HATERS. Queen Bey for the win :-)

      @rorymayor.

Are you serious? Those songs are Urban Pop. Not RnB. Thats whats wrong with you Rihanna fans, yall have little to know music comprehension. Just because an artist music gets played on a black station does not mean they are RnB…Think before you spew out misinformation. Rihanna got that nomination because she is a Black artist who is very dominant in the industry right now. Plus, even if those records where RnB, they all flopped. So why should she have gotten that nomination over someone like Elle Varner or Jill Scott who makes quality RnB music?

    32. brunswickboy86 says:

None of Rihanna’s videos this era were on 106th & Park so of course they’re not going to be nominated…don’t be mad at BET, be mad at Def Jam

BET is wack. The soul, the love and what it use to stand for is tasteless….They are kissing ass with these noms even wiz khalifa had a better year than bey i know will be switch channels on the video of the year award…and am not hating just doing.

BET is really going downhill and I’m actaully glad. It’s not even Black Entertainment TV because white people own BET.

Fuck BET, really. All they do is kiss ass. All those nominations are messed up, messed all the way up!

    35. Kanyade says:
      May 23, 2012 at 1:46 pm

BET = Beyonce/Bigga (JayZ) Entertainment Television

Hopefully there will be good performances. Let’s focus on that. We all know these awards are moot, all things considered.

I said DESPITE not having a #1 album… lol I agree with you though… 4 was an excellent album and deserves the accolades and awards it gets. I just thought that We Found Love was a good video… it made me want to dust off my Rihanna stan card… but then she released TTT and I was like O__O lol

    37. KingBEY92 says:
      May 23, 2012 at 4:47 pm

Stop making it seem as if Beyonce always did a video tribute this is her first for B.E.T. She performed for B.E.T plenty of times and I know she will be their. Kelly Motivation came out before the eligibility period that’s why she isn’t nominated. I do think it would’ve been fair for Kells to be nominated for best R&B female instead of Rihanna tbh.

    38. My Thoughts says:
      May 23, 2012 at 6:27 pm

The only thing that pisses me off is the VIDEO OF THE YEAR AWARD! WTF? Why are Jayz and Beyonce the only two ppl in the damn category! Chris Brown’s TUTM & Kelly Rowland’s Motivation should also be in that category! This is an outrage and obviously done to get them to attend the damn show. I hate that the world bows to Jayz’s ass! F*** him!
