Remember when Mary J. Blige massacred the US national anthem, ‘The Star Spangled Banner’, at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game? Well, she decided to give the tune and her vocal chance another try at the Kentucky Derby.
Thankfully, Blige remained with the limitations of her vocal range and handled ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ with more ease than her previous attempt at the All-Star Game. Watch Blige belt the US anthem at the Derby below:

You Go!girl sing that anthem Mary. I think she did a good
job.
Outstanding! Made me proud to be an american.
That was better than before.
Looks and sounds amazing here. Good for her!
I cant with that hat tho
Yes Mary! She did a marvelous job.
Well, I didn’t win, but I was in 3rd for a while. All the same, Blige missed some notes. “The rocket’s red glare” was flat, and the section from 1:40 to about 1:55 shows that she’s really trying to find the notes — moving on and off pitch until she just about gets back in the right key.
Mary did a GREAT performance despite the haters!!!!
