Did you know that rapper Ja Rule’s career drastically declined following 50 Cent’s debut?
Ja Rule scored two triple platinum and two platinum albums prior to 50 Cent’s ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin” debut studio LP in 2003. However, when the latter rocketed to popularity and their long-lasting feud was fueled by the media, Ja Rule success waned.
In fact, Ja Rule has yet to score another platinum album since his ‘The Last Temptation’ record in 2002. Additionally, only one of his singles cracked the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 since 2002 – ‘Wonderful (Ft. R. Kelly & Ashanti)’, which peaked at #5 in 2004.

And now look at both of them: Ja Rule’s in prison for tax evasion, 50 Cent is walking Floyd Mayweather to the boxing ring like a damn groupie, and both are afterthoughts in today’s evolving rap/hip hop genre. 50 Cent may be über rich, but nobody is checking for a Curtis Jackson record. Such a shame too – they RAN the game in the early 2000′s, only to be replaced by snap music and songs that come equipped with a dance routine.
