Did you know that R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo were once members of of the foursome Jodeci?
Alongside the DeGrate brothers brothers, K-Ci & JoJo – Cedric Hailey and Joel Hailey – formed the group Jodeci. However, during their time in the band, K-Ci & JoJo began issuing their own matrial as a duo and eventually become almost equally as successful as they were as part of the foursome.
Jodeci’s only top ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 was their cover of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Lately’, which peaked at #4 on the chart. On the other hand, K-Ci & JoJo landed three top ten songs, including the #1 hits ‘All My Life’ and ‘How Do U Want It (with Tupac)’.

My mother always tell us how she seen them in concert numerous times at church in Milwaukee, when they were singing gospel as Little Cedrick and The Hailey Singers. Said it never surprised her them leaving their gospel roots to sing r&b, because a lot of your r&b singers started out in church.
