It looks as though Kelly Rowland’s ‘Summer Dreaming’ video for the Bacardi 150th anniversary celebration was a warmup for a far more exciting event. Indeed, before performing ‘Motivation’ with Lil Wayne at the Hot 97.9 Birthday Bash, the singer announces that her new single is due in weeks.

Inspired by the music of Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, Rowland noted that her new album will inspire women. ”I stopped by Hitsville USA and saw all of this history; it filled my soul up to the point where I wanted to tell my story,” Rowland told Vegas magazine. “To me, it’s really about having something to say, and people love that. That’s what’s so great about Adele: She is a storyteller.”
