If you thought Mariah Carey’s rendition of ‘Hero’ at Sporting Monte-Carlo in Monaco was great then you haven’t seen anything yet! Indeed, the legendary singer, who was once accused of losing her vocal gifts, showcased the the full power of her voice at the intimate event by belting her hits ‘We Belong Together’, ‘My All’ and more.
Carey floated across the Monaco stage as she scaled through her range and wowed the crowd with her incredible voice. Yet, the best part of the show was the fact that she didn’t lip-sync a single note! Watch the footage below to see what I mean:

If the anticipation for Carey’s new album wasn’t already high then it just hit the roof! Her voice sounded spectacular here and she took us back to 1999 with the clarity of her voice! There really isn’t anything negative to say about this show so just let the tears of joy flow.

Show the world them again vocals Ms.Carey!! I loved this concert, her tone sounds great, her flexibility is back in place, her dynamics are getting back to true form and she seems so much more fluid on stage! Forget your nerves Carey and just slay, slay, slay! I love her vocals so much!
Trent, you’re being biased. This wasn’t that great. She’s still pitchy, inconsistent and cracking. Somehow, Mariah has done irreparable damage to her voice and it’s very obvious. We’re applauding her “legendary” status as opposed to solid vocals. If Beyonce sounded like that or Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson and the rest you’d have every gif and adjective to describe their poor showing.
What I can’t understand is how Mariah’s normal voice is so inconsistent. She can’t sing the verses which are the easiest parts of the songs? Her belts are good, but I think she should just take a long time off, raise “dem babies” and return once every so often. 2 albums a decade is enough considering she’s done SO MUCH music, She can’t really reclaim that 1990-97 reign. She’s had her time, given us her best, she should let music be secondary, tertiary even.

“My all” was MY ALL!!!!! The voice is back. She learned the Morocco lesson, she rested her voice and she understood live is best in “Can’t take that away”. She did a great job. She needs to trust herself like this. She’s gonna slay in 2012!

That’s insulting to say about someone’s art and talent that they greatly treasure and have been doing their whole life. Music is everything to Mariah. It’s not some thing to do on the side. She does’t need to be putting out albums every other year (and she really hasn’t been) but she can definitely still give us great music. People need to stop trying to count her out. She doesn’t deserve that. And who said she is trying to regain the ’90-’97 reign? She is at a different point in her career now. She doesn’t need to do that.
We know that Mariah’s voice has changed and that she doesn’t sound like the early-mid 90s but that certainly doesn’t mean that she is not amazing and one of the best female vocalists out there.

She was a little pitchy on “Can’t Take That Away From Me,” but at least she sang it live. She sounded really good on “We Belong Together” (I loved how she sang the word “believe” because that alone gave me chills). “My All” was my favorite performance of them all because she sounded really good belting out those notes!
Overall, She did very well and she seemed really happy to be back on stage.

This is proof that Mariah’s voice is recovering from pregnancy and whatever from 2008. This is REAL pregnancy, not someone who just gave birth and looked the same as before. But still, I’m just glad that Mariah sung these songs(which she wrote by the way, they werent stolen(;) and i’m just hoping she would do I Still Believe or Side Effects, somewhat lesser known songs from her 13 albums, which has 6 #1 albums, 18 #1 hits, over 200 records sold worldwide.
