Did you know that Aaliyah, Brandy, Usher and Monica all released their debut singles before they were 16 years of age?

Aaliyah, Monica and Usher were all just 14 years of age when they released their debut singles. Usher was the first of the group to hit the music scene on August 16th 1993 with ‘Call Me Back’ and he was followed by Aaliyah with ‘Back & Forth’ on January 1st 1994, just two weeks before her January 16th birthday.

Additionally, Monica issued her ‘Don’t Take it Personal (Just One of dem Days)’ debut single on April 10th 1995. Brandy, on the other hand, was already 15 years of age when she released ‘I Wanna Be Down’ on September 6th 1994.

Who had the the most successful debut among Aaliyah, Brandy, Usher and Monica? The winner was Monica whose ’Don’t Take it Personal’ peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Interesting music minute, only one very minor error – Aaliyah would’ve been 15 in 1994

BRANDY is soooooooooooooooooo pretty! RIP Aaliyah!

@Carl Trent said her “January 16th birthday”. He didn’t mean that she was turning 16; he meant that her birthday was on the 16th of January.

Minicar debuted higher but Brandy had more hits and sold more than all of them.

Actually @Girrrl Usher has sold more than all of them in his career, which Aaliyah’s career #’s shouldn’t even count since she passed 11 years ago.
