Alicia Keys previously released a statement expressing the excitement she has for her new music and promised that we would hear the material very soon. Staying true to her promise, the songstress has released a new song, ‘New Day’, which is the lead single from her latest studio album.
‘New Day’ has been produced by the Keys’ husband, Swizz Beatz. While speaking to Billboard, Keys noted that her new album will be “the most incredible musical cake that you’ve eaten in your life”, comprising a mix of fresh styles.

Can we give all praises to the most high that ‘New Day’ is not a ballad! This track can definitely be a summer hit, the production is strong and Keys vocals flow perfectly on the record. The excitement finally has kicked in for her new album!

…hmmmmmm, cute but it is definitely missing something, not sure what but it is almost there. And she is still doing that thing with her voice at the end of some of her notes where it sounds like she is pulling up her chest.
Her voice sounds different. Her voice use to be a soultry smoothe/pure. Now she sounds raspy. I knew she was in trouble when I heard singing at Whitney’s funeral. I hope she starts pulling the ‘Mariah Carey’ onstage: lipsynching
I love this!!! It reminds me of something Amerie would record, Swiss has always produced some of the best beats. This is dope!
I was getting excited at the beginning, then it lost me. The production is hard, but the lyrics are basic and her vocals are terrible, thus it just sounds like a bunch of loud noise.
