    Nicki Minaj Announces New Single

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Roman Reloaded promo TheLavaLizard

Nicki Minaj poses for a 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' promo pic.

Ke$ha is ready to launch her return to the music scene so Nicki Minaj needs to hurry if she wishes to corner the former’s market. As such, the former Hip-Hop artist has readied a new single that will position in the running to score the Dance hit of the summer season.

Minaj has selected ‘Pound the Alarm’ as the next single from her ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ album. The track will be released in on July 2nd and it corresponding video will debut in the following two weeks.

Thus far, Minaj’s only top 40 hit in both the US and UK has been ‘Starships’, which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Official UK Singles Chart. All of her other singles – promotional and official releases – including ‘Right by My Side (Ft. Chris Brown)’, stalled on the lineups. ’Roman Reloaded’ has yet to be certified gold in the US despite being released since April 3rd.

    ————————————————————————

Minaj really doesn’t understand the core reason for the slow sales of ‘Roman Reloaded’ – she is targeting the wrong audience. Dance/Pop music fans rarely buy full albums and singles like ‘Pound the Alarm’ won’t sway then to do anything except fall drunk in the club.

Also, these poor singles choices are why serious Hip-Hop fans refuse to support Minaj’s ‘Roman Reloaded’ project. Really, what are the chances that somebody who enjoyed ‘Moment 4 Life’ would be eager to listen to listen to ‘Pound the Alarm’? Minaj just doesn’t understand.

Listen to ‘Pound the Alarm’ below:

HER FANS CLAIM HER ALBUM WENT GOLD TODAY! Oh but I really love that she does thsi to herself, she is asking to crash and burn, None of those songs actually connect with each other so if you like one of her songs, you might not like the next, she needs to pull a Rihanna and start working on another album for next year with a different image,

She’s releasing duo single to appease both audiences. Doesn’t she have “Beez In The Trap” & “Right By My Side” at Urban right now?

Oh god. Starshits was better than this. This sounds like a leftover from Pitbull’s album.

Remember when “Rappers” “Rapped” about actual things instead of punding an alarm or starship in the sky???
Even though I wasn’t a fan last album either “moment for life” and a few other tracks were good, like Trent said though there’s no way i’d buy this flop album if i wanted something like “moment for life”.

This is terrible! Why doesn’t she release Roman Reloaded or HOV Lane? The best to RAP songs on her album? Then she gets offended when people say that she is pop but released shit like this? #bitchplease

Azealia is actually doing the hip pop thing the right way, nicki minaj could learn a few tricks, I mean I’m not totally against nicki, I just think she should stop doing all these features and trying to cater to alllll her fans and focus on what got her this far… Shame on her team for letting her get so ahead of herself so fast

That song is fire tho .. clubs will eat it up and DJs will remix it like crazy, thus chart success on the BB hot 100

What’s she gonna do? She pretty much fails at making good rap songs and pop songs, so why not release the club dance shit. Her team is smart. Collect that $ while you can cause after this its pretty much over for her

for once i agree. Many always claim hip hop fans dont buy cd’s but Nicki’s sales show that’s not true. Hip hop fans actually was the reason the first cd was a success and pop fans are the reason superbass was a success, she needs to learn how to combine the two like Salt n Pepa did and pleased both audiences on the way to selling million of records and singles in the US and internationally

theman4u : you need to learn how to read though. Trent didn’t says you hip hop fans don’t buy cd’s he said “POP fans rarely buy albums and serious hip hop fans don’t support her new shit because it’s not hip hop” .
