Justin Bieber is about to cement his position as one of the biggest stars on the Pop music scene. If not then at least he will enjoy the consolation prize of having the largest first week sales of 2012, courtesy of his ‘Believe’ album.
‘Believe’ is on course to sell 400K-500K copies and enter the Billboard 200 at #1 next week. The record will secure the largest opening sales of any release in 2012, surpassing the 359K copies that Madonna’s ‘M.D.N.A.’ sold in April.
Bieber’s previous studio album, ‘My World 2.0′, was released in April 2010 andĀ sold 291K copies in its first week. To date, that LP has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA in the US, despite only generating a lone top 10 single – ‘Baby (Ft. Ludacris)’, which peaked at #5.

yeah not surprised at the prediction! but will the little girls buy it?
@MariahServant why do u think the prediction is so high? th major part of his fanbase are lil girls.
My 50 year old boss at work had no idea that Justin Bieber sang the song she’s been singing at work for the past 2 months….and when she found out that he sang Boyfriend she said she was gonna buy the CD to play over the restaurant speakers…lol. Just goes to show you that his appeal streches across every race, gender, age group, and is pretty much universal at this point. I honesty wouldn’t be surprised if he sold 700,000+ copies this week. His fans are insane! Not only do they keep him trending on Twitter on a daily basis, but when he does trend it is MULTIPLE trending topics at once. This dude has a huge following and he will yield HUGE numbers. @MariahServant I understand your concerns but these parents can’t deny their little girls this CD. I’m sure they have been asking for it before it even got released. EVERYONE will be buying this. haha. This is not like the other artists whose fans pretend they are feeling the material and then conveniently forget to buy the CD but instead sit up and listen to it on YouTube and Spotify. His fans aren’t cheap lol
