Frank Ocean Ranks High On UK Albums Chart

Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ album cover.

Chris Brown’s ‘Fortune’ album entered the UK Albums Chart last week at its summit and Frank Ocean came rather close to matching that feat. In fact, the emotional singer-songwriter’s ‘channel ORANGE’ debut album has notched a place in the top 3 of the chart.

‘channel ORANGE’ opened at #2 on this week’s UK Albums Chart, behindĀ Newton Faulkner’s ‘Write It On Your Skin’. In fact, there was a mere 3K-unit margin between those top two albums, despite the fact that Ocean’s album was only issued digitally.

In the US, ‘channel ORANGE’ is on track to sell as much as 125K copies when it enters the Billboard 200 in the coming days. However, with Ocean’s ‘channel ORANGE Tour’ now underway and additional media outlets gradually giving him coverage, those figures are expected to increase.

Listen to ‘Pyramids’ from ‘channel ORANGE’ below:
