It’s that time of the year for us to brace ourselves for blatant favouritsm and propaganda, courtesy of the 2012 MTV VMA. However, unlike many of the previous shows, the producers of this year’s ceremony actually developed an impressive list of nominations with Rihanna rightfully leading the pack.
Rihanna scored an impressive five nominations at the 2012 MTV VMA, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for ‘We Found Love’. Additionally, the Barbadian’s ‘Where Have You Been’ landed slots in the Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects fields.
Also up for five nominations at the 2012 MTV VMA is Drake, who leads Katy Perry’s four nods and Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Coldplay, M.I.A and The Throne with three each. Check out who wins when the show airs live on September 6th at 8pm ET from the Staples Center in Los Angeles with featured performances by Alicia Keys and One Direction.

Watch one of the most memorable moments from the 2011 MTV VMA, when Beyonce flaunted her baby bump, below:
Finally got it right!!!
i don’t think Where Have you Been has one the best choreography. that’s the only category of rihanna’s i don’t agree with.
Yaaaas Rihanna! I don’t get how Countdown has a best choreography nom. A huge chunk of the video was changed due to plagiarism.
We found love better win Video of the Year!
Nothing against nicki Minaj but why is starships up for a nod whilst lady gagas marry the night has been rudely ignored…
@Matt i totally agree. but even without any nobs, Gaga will be the talk of the show. i hope she at least performs… and i’ll also be watching to hear the title of her new record and single.
