Did you know that Janet Jackson’s first two albums were commercially unsuccessful?

Both Jackson’s self-titled debut album and its ‘Dream Street’ followup failed to make a major impact on the charts. In fact, they peaked at #63 and #147 on the Billboard 200 when they were released in 1982 and 1984, respectively. Neither album has achieved gold status in the US.

Jackson only garnered a pair of Billboard Hot 100 hits from her debut set – ‘Young Love’ climbed to #64 and ‘Come Give Your Love to Me’ reached #58. None of her other singles managed to crack the chart and it wasn’t until her breakthrough album, ‘Control’, in 1986 did she reenter the Hot 100 with her first top 5 hit, ‘What Have You Done for Me Lately’.

   Janet looks almost exactly like Michael did in the Off the Wall era. She could have done his videos for Don’t Stop and Rock With You! It’s funny how her miming her head off isn’t noted! Nowadays…kaboom!

   Janet Jackson is a music legend. So what, her first cds did not go gold. If you had a cd, it would not even sell 10 copies. Whatever, dude!

   umm… I think the point of this post was to show you shallow fools that its not all about “album sales” An artist isnt going to go 3x platinum each album. Janet is considered a pop icon to a lot of people and all her albums didnt do well “commercially” but she has great songs and shes an amazing performer.

   LOFL Why would she be stealing from her brothers children when she’s already listed as 1 of the richest female entertainers of all time and is currently dating a billionare? Money is clearly the last thing on her mind and it always has shown. Soooooo to say otherwise runs the risk of sounding like a complete moron…sorry.
