Did you know that one of Alicia Keys’ earliest recordings was a song on a Christmas album presented Jermaine Dupri?
Keys performed the song ‘Little Drummer Girl’ on Dupri’s ’12 Soulful Nights of Christmas’ set in 1996. The album included Holiday-themed recordings by several artists, such as Xscape, Faith Evans, Tamia and Chaka Khan.
When ’12 Soulful Nights of Christmas’ was released in October 1996, the then unknown Keys was only fifteen years of age and still five years away from the debut of her first album, ‘Songs in A Minor’, which hit stores in June 2001. Watch Keys’ perform ‘Little Drummer Girl’ below:
