Dawn Richard made quite a splash with her ‘Armor On’ EP but now she’s ready to focus on more pressing matters, such as her debut solo album, ‘Goldenheart’. The first record from the trilogy set will hit stores on October 16th and include a new song entitled ‘Pretty Wicked Things’.

Produced by Druski, ‘Pretty Wicked Things’ is yet another dark and brooding release from Dawn. Yet, it isn’t a single from ‘Goldenheart’. Rather, similar to Dawn’s other material, it is merely a glimpse of what this incredibly talented songstress has to offer.

There is an undeniable chemistry between Dawn and Druski that always produces the most remarkable results. Her sultry contralto blended perfectly with the production on ‘Pretty Wicked Things’ and there really isn’t anything negative that can be said about the tune. All I would add is this: Dawn would benefit from performing with live instrumentals.

Brandy sounded amazing on ‘A Capella (Something’s Missing)’ and Sade is a true master because she doesn’t depend on studio effects. We all know that Dawn doesn’t need thick production to sound good but she might have to prove that so some people in the near future.
