Trey Songz is gearing up to release his fifth studio album, ‘Chapter 5′. As the release date for the project is drawing nearer, the R&B singer has released a new track titled ‘Dive In’, which will appear on the LP.
‘Chapter 5′ is set to be released on August 21st. The record has been preceded by the singles, ‘Heart Attack’ and the disappointing, ’2 Reasons (ft. T.I.)’. Songz claimed that his new project will showcase his artistic growth. However, does he express this “artistic growth” through ‘Dive In’? Listen to the track below and see for yourself:
‘Dive In’ is a typical Songz record and it’s very similar to ‘Panty Dropper’, which was featured on his ‘Ready’ album. Honestly, this song does not showcase this “artistic growth” that he promised with ‘Chapter 5′. Still, ‘Dive In’ is definitely an improvement from Songz in comparison to ’2 Reasons’, despite him trying his hardest to channel R. Kelly on the track.

He have not evolved since be came out. This is so typical trey music. He’ll never reach Kellz plateau. 1st he need a platinum plaque. When he write substantial songs that’s timeless and stop taking off his shirt. Maybe then he can be mentioned in the same sentence as Kellz. Until then trey will always be limited to going gold
He need to quit acting like he pops p**sy when in reality all he doing is bopping that bussy.
This is the better song of the 2 previously released. Yes, he is going back to what’s natural for him which is singing sexually charged songs. Unfortunately for him, he and his team created this brand. He needs to show people he is more than just a handsome face with a nice body. Everybody sings sexual songs but Trey has built his “brand” around it. I think he is talented but he just needs to showcase more depth. People will say he did that on his first two albums and no one was checking for him but he should have continued with it and made the public see his talent and not his “sexual image”.
He said that you will hear the old Trey and you will hear things you haven’t heard from Trey yet. He never said that he was going to reinvent the wheel. When an artist leaves their base and try something new, y’all are mad. When they stick with something, y’all are mad. Lol. I love this, it is not too raunchy, it is good. I guess we are going to act like we didn’t get Heart Attack? This is the first sex song released from the LP.
I said the same thing on Twitter. I see no growth
He’ll be getting a “get your shit together” letter soon. I really want more from him. I would love him to experiment a little bit more. Sex has always been a topic in music so that’s not really the issue. It’s all in the delivery. Trey’s delivery is not good enough. He can deliver but he has no motivation/ inspiration to do so.

* agree * sorry my bad
It’s unfortunate that this guy has yet to find his own sound. Still trying to be the next R. Kelly. *Yawn*
He sounds more like R. Kelly and R.Kelly lately
