Beyonce visits Anderson Cooper’s ‘AC360′.
What better way is there for Beyonce to raise awareness for the millions of people suffering around the globe than to discuss how it affects her life? Clearly the House of Dereon designer couldn’t think of another method when she visited Anderson Cooper’s ‘AC360′ this evening.
“We all have our purpose, and we all have our strengths…it feels so wonderful to do something for someone else and I think for the UN to want to include the whole world was something important, and I feel like that’s what I represent,” said Beyonce as she discussed her role in World Humanitarian Day on ‘AC360′. That’s exactly what starving children need to hear.
Also on the listing of talking points for Beyonce was her ‘I Was Here’ video, which will premiere on World Humanitarian Day (August 19th). Watch behind the scenes images of that clip by clicking here and the check out her ‘AC360′ interview below:

Before I post this I want to say I am not a crazy beyonce Stan like most people, but I think Trent to be honest you be asking for it from them. Lol like honestly, ur a music blog, what does this have to do with music? Besides her talking about the video it didn’t have nothing to do with music but u post it, and had to throw in how she is narcissistic and made it about herself. Like why couldn’t u just focus on the music part of it which was her video or not even post this at all since it’s really not about her music? Just saying.
You forgot to put “I don’t know if this is selfish or not” while quoting her. Also her job is to promote the day. The UN hired her for the publicity and to basically be the face fort this project, why wouldn’t she plug the song? I mean the project is built around it. You say you’re not a hater, but I beg to differ. For someone who wines on twitter constantly about being attached by “stans” you seem to love it. While I know it’s your blog it’s still a form of journalism and you need to learn how to report objectively.

I am not a crazy Beyonce stan either. I do have all her CD/DVD Concert videos and I like Beyonce as an artist. The only issue as a fan of her music I have with this is that she is “plugging” her own song with the humanitarian program. I could be wrong on saying this but I have not seen an artist be a spokesperson for such a program and attach “his/her” song to it. Usually a song is created or designed around the project and that song/single is released and the proceeds go to charity and not the artist. I’m sure Beyonce will receive checks from the sale of this single. For me as a fan of her music, this is what rubs me not you and you and you but ME the wrong way. It is not a Trent issue that he has with her or let me post something on Beyonce to poke fun at her. I see myself giving her the side eye too and this is what so many people see about her and say that she makes everything about her or that it is not geniune. I’m just saying…I’m sure the stans will flood this post responding to me as well.
Why are you all trying to find negativity in what is suppose to be something uplifting and positive … People will always try to discourage someone or speak down upon someone trying to do something good or something better for humainty … It’s quite sad … Thank you Beyonce for detonating your time and energy to something postive in this world … Weather it be your song or a song written 20 mins ago the message is do much more then what you all are talking about … God bless everyone who’s trying to make a difference in this world
I wished they had gave it to an artist who is “actually” a humanitarian or uses their music to raise awareness about important social issues. It’s random that they chose Bey to me because she um rarely to NEVER does that. I don’t care if her fans attack me. But whatever, who am I? Just a random consumer I guess…..

Google “I Was Here” + “Donated”. The track was donated by Beyonce and Dianne Warren (The songwriter) to WHD. The proceeds from the track do not go to either of their pockets.

Someone on another site said this song was used for some soccer tourney in the UK last year. Is that true? Had she changed the subject from “I” to “You” would people stop calling this act/event selfish and narcissistic? This event was in the works long before Harry cast his shade, so stop saying her actions (minus what her publicist sent out…that list) is a rebuttal to Belafonte’s opinion. First, Beyoncé is always doing something for ppl in poverty; however, she does not pubilcize her work. Unlike a good majority of the ppl who do humanitarian wok. Second, how is she making this about herself when the project is centered around the song. U all completely missed the point of the interview. Instead u all, found something to nitpick. It’s not about kissing her ass. It’s simply acknowledging good doings. Third, whoever said it, her letters are her way of connecting w/ fans on HER website. She has no control over what blog sites post.
Everything Beyonce does for charity is publicized. I saw when she publicized her building she did with Kelly Rowland. I saw the hugely publicized tv program for her beauty school. And now she needs the UN. Didn’t she donate this song for 9/11? It is all for show. Nothing is wrong with helping the less fortunate but when you do it for the praise and adoration of people, then that’s when it becomes a problem.
