Chris Brown is known for continuously giving his fans new music and today he maintained that momentum. Taking to Twitter, the part time rapper previewed a new song from an upcoming mixtape, which will be released later this year.

Yes, you read that correctly, Brown will issue a new mixtape during the coming months, despite the recent release of his album, ‘Fortune’, which has only sold 224K since June 29th. On the other hand, his  ‘F.A.M.E.’ LP has sold 892K since March 11th 2011.

Earlier this year, Brown and ‘Fan of a Fan’ collaborator, Tyga announced they are working on a new mixtape. Watch the former preview his new song below:

Mixtapes can be detrimental to the success artists for two reasons: oversaturating their market (even their fans growing bored of them) or they simply running out of fresh ideas. Let’s hope this doesn’t Brown because he is far too young to burn out this soon.

He needs to just promote the music he has out now, how dumb is it to release more when you have an actual album out. Mixtapes aren’t gonna help his album sales. Thats why he is where he is nw because of too much overexposure and free music.

He is just not even close to the Chris that he used to be. I’ve been Team Breezy forever but I’m so over him at the moment. I feel like for a while I’ve been over the kind of artist he has become, all he talks about in his songs is sex, girls, sex, sex, sex. Its a little over saturation mixed with some overcompensation. Then, he goes on twitter to say that his own fans need to “step it up” when this boy hasn’t done ANYTHING to promote his album in a positive way. Honestly, he is the exact opposite of what kind of artist I want to support and put my money into at the moment. I could go on for days because it pisses me off to see someone with so much potential for good to sing, “i dont want no ni**as in my section, all bitches all bitches all bitches”…..like really? And most of his fans could care less what he does or how wrong he is to go against him. I’m too old for that. I’ll be on the lookout to see if he ever grows up, but at this point, as a fan…..I’m no expecting anything anymore from him.

If an artist is popular enough oversaturating the market and causing people to get bored with you should never be a problem. There was one time in 1964 when the Beatles had 8 hit records all at the same time (including A sides and B sides) and 3 of them were in the Top 10 on the exact same week. Not to mention having other hits in the Top 40 at that time. That’s all possible IF an artist is popular enough, but then again, nobody ever said Chris Brown was the next Beatles or the next Elvis.

Yeah thats the thing though, the Beatles and Elvis are just something else. The media will make things worst as far as oversaturation is concerned.
