Elle Varner Covers Brandy’s ‘I Wanna Be Down’

Elle Varner has one of the most unique voices on the R&B music circuit so any song she performs has her own stamp of originality. That point was recently put to the test when she appeared at the Highline Ballroom for a showcase and decided to cover Brandy’s ‘I Wanna Be Down’.

Adding her own jazzy twist to the arrangement, Varner rocked with the Hihgline crowd as she took them back through time with Brandy’s ‘I Wanna Be Down’. The best part of her performance? She didn’t attempt to directly clone the original.
