Janelle Monae was literally on top of the world earlier this year when her collaboration with fun, ‘We Are Young’, climbed to the summit of the Billboard Hot 100. Now, the exciting entertainer is planning to capitalise on her newfound broadened audience with a new album and single. In fact, she has already revealed the titles of both records.
According to Vanity Fair, ‘The Electric Lady’ is the official title of Monae’s new album, which will be preceded by the title track lead single. The LP is the followup to Monae’s Grammy Award-nominated debut album, ‘The ArchAndroid (Suit II & III)’ – it earned a nod for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 2011 Grammy ceremony.
Monae has been performing ‘Electric Lady’ for several months on the concert circuit. Watch her sing it live at the 2011 Montreal Jazz Festival below:

The Arch Android Suite II & III is not her debut album… It was Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase). It had that song Many Moons on it. Ah well, I’m happy I’m getting another album from her soon
