Melanie Fiona is a skilled vocalist who could make almost anything sound like a testament from her soul. The singer showcased this talent by taking on powerhouse Alanis Morissette’s ‘Ironic’ during Billboard’s ‘Candid Covers’ series.
Fiona released her understated ‘The MF Life’ album in March, which was led by the singles ’4 A.M.’ and ‘This Time (Ft. J. Cole)’. The songs peaked at #11 and #89 on Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, respectively.
In addition to promoting the third single from ‘The MF Life’, ‘Wrong Side of a Love Song’, during her Billboard set, Fiona will join Mary J. Blige and D’Angelo on their ‘The Liberation Tour’ in August. Watch Fiona perform ‘Ironic’, ‘Wrong Side of a Love Song’, and sit down with Billboard for an interview below:

…..I think she’s hot…..oops, I mean she needs a hit song by now…….lol
That “Ironic” cover was amazing. It’s sometimes hard for us RnB singers to avoid overuse of vibrato on different genres but she did well. I love her voice, but don’t see how she’s unique in a field of singers just like her(ish). If she was a 90′s chick she’d have been outselling Monica and Brandy. She’d have been a triple platinum chick!
“Melanie Fiona is a skilled vocalist who could make almost anything sound like a testament from her soul.”<==== Love this statement. It sounds so poetic…
Melanie is so underrated!
