Elton John

Did you know that Elton John is not the birth name of the legendary singer-songwriter?

Born on March 25th 1947, John was originally named Reginald Kenneth Dwight. However, in 1967, he  changed his title by taking the first name of his former bandmate Elton Dean and his last name from Long John Baldry. Elton John is indeed his legal name and he was knighted by the British Crown under that title in 1998.

John is one of the most successful recording artists of all time and is widely known for his flamboyant stage shows as well as his biting remarks regarding other entertainers. Watch him perform one of his most notorious songs, ‘The Bitch is Back’, below:
