Are you ready to hear the worst vocal performance of 2012? No, you need to we need to be very clear: you are about hear something that will make you question your ears, all thanks to Alicia Keys’ Blue Light version of her new song, ‘Girl on Fire’.
In what can only be described as unfortunate irony, Keys’ Blue Light edition of ‘Girl on Fire’ finds her struggling to find the right key on her own song for over four minutes. Hey, at least she’s not yelling like she did on the original and Nicki Minaj-assisted Inferno cuts of the tune.
Listen to the Blue Light special mix of ‘Girl on Fire’ below:
Now, people regularly slam us bloggers for not proof reading our articles so it’s only fair that I ask if Keys bothered to double check this Blue Light cut of ‘Girl on Fire’ before she released it. What exactly is the big deal? She sounds horrible!
Keys’ is utterly flat throughout the Blue Light version of ‘Girl on Fire’, her voice is painfully raspy and the track doesn’t even sound as though it was properly mastered. Simply, this record is garbage and I refuse to believe that Jeff Bhasker or Salaam Remi had anything to do with it. What do I have to click to return this song to sender?
I agree, this version is horrible, what was she thinking?
so…… im already UP for her next single becoz that shit right here is pure CRAP.COM
Oooh, a pleasant surprise…. I’m a fan of this version! The best of the 3
Her vocals are rough but it doesn’t detract from the experience for me.

um, damn! wham to she?
The song in it self is good, her voice doesn’t sound that raspy, and she isn’t as flat as u are trying to make her out to be. This is actually the best version of the song. It sounded as if she was trying to implement more harmonies, and play around with the melodies. I didn’t get flat though. Perhaps she was behind the song in certain parts.
Oh Alicia that was horrible!
WHAT. Just WHAT. WHAT is she thinking?! 3 versions of this terrible song?! AH man.
I keep saying this girl needs a vocal coach. If she sounds like this at the vmas she may have the two worst live vocal performances of 2012. This and that god forsaken performance at Whitney’s funeral.
She sounds exactly the same she has when she first appeared on the scene. And a few of y’all are dumb as ever because the vocals are exactly the same…just a different beat. “Get your life!” This song is hott…not her best. And I agree that she needs vocal coaching. But she isn’t as bad as most of you are trying to make her out to be. Have several seats on space ships and set course for the sun.
NOOOO THIS IS POOR! FLAT IS SHIT!! I know Salaam Remi didnt do this! Coz he didnt allow Amy W sing such!! God be a coach!
Yes for that little Janet (Thats The Way Love Goes Intro)
I don’t like the original single and I definitely don’t like this one. She could’ve kept this one.
Hmmmmm… Maybe I’m biased but this is actually my favorite version of the song… Alicia has always had raspy and semi-strained vocals, so I think this is in the vein her sound. The song is defintiely a grower, but I know that I will do just fine… I can’t wait to hear her perfom it live on the VMAs!!! #TeamKeys
