Christina Aguilera visits ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’
As expected, Christina Aguilera’s vocal brilliance at the ‘Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together’ was short-lived . Just moments ago, the gruff powerhouse made an appearance on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ and unleashed a natural disaster of her own when she performed ‘Your Body’ for the first time.
After kicking off the performance with a few good notes, Aguilera’s vocal cords collapsed into chaos as she struggled to belt the high notes of ‘Your Body’. The final result was a painful mix of strangled wails and painful facial expressions. Watch Aguilera on ‘Jimmy Fallon’ below:
Until further notice, we need assume that Aguilera doesn’t hear herself while singing. Yet, that makes no sense because she clearly feels the strain of those notes as depicted by the look on her face and the way she literally pulls back every time she tries to belt.
Honestly, Aguilera’s “belts” had absolutely no breath support and she was yelling from her throat. Any novice singer with a good vocal coach would know better so why does she inflict such damage to her own vocal cords? Aguilera seriously needs an intervention.

Did you go to school to be a vocal coach? Are you a trained vocal coach? Because you seem to think you are. Nobody wants to hear you talk about everybody’s vocals except Mariah Carey’s, all the damn time. Maybe Mally should take over the site…
Well I am a vocal coach and I agree with Trent. This performance is a classic example of a singer who lacks breath support and understanding of placement. Trent knows his stuff.
Instead of Mally taking over the site maybe you should just STOP COMING HERE. But you won’t do that because YOU LOVE IT.
@Treyy, nobody wants to see your comments so why take the time to click on TRENT’S SITE. I thought the performance was funny so I didn’t quite analyze her vocal because the skit was humorous to me. If you don’t like Trent’s critique of Christina or any other artist it’s your free choice to not come on his site. I like Trent’s humor and daily shade one ALL posts and the GIF’s and I wouldn’t enjoy the site as much if he stopped. Stop being so sensitive all the time and just laugh a little, it’s just Trent’s opinion
Well that makes perfect since…I come on this site to catch up on entertainmemt, not necessarily Trent’s constant shady comments. He overly exaggerates most of the time. But QUEENS love to dwell in shade. So yeah, makes perfect since….uncalled for mostthe time, but it makes since…he has to keep you fellow shade queens coming back. So you can also act like music critics and vocal coaches….
but the shade is, you don’t use certain words in it’s correct context. I mean SINCE when did since sound like SENSE. I’m assuming that’s the look you were going for?
This is one of those rare moments where I actually liked her I thought she was having fun.
the sharp contrast in her singing in the beginning and her..louder moments says a lot. I want her to start singing with her natural voice. not that manipulated sound shes likes to make

Besides her voice sounding a bit airless, this handles the likability factor Christina has been struggling with for some time. She needs to show off her fun side more like this. This was cool.
Christina isn’t big though thats what you should get though. That’s not fat. Also, her voice sounds incredible on “LYB”. She sounds like Christina Christina when she doesn’t do too much.
I thought she sounded just fine! Her mid notes were great the high notes were a bit strained as usual. Thats just the way she sing and I don’t think shell ever change that.

Hold up hoes. Yes, Mariah struggles, but she does not push the issue and SCREAM like a dying cat and when Mariah was the same age that Christina is now, she was in her Charmbracelet era – for those of you who don’t know, look it up on youtube, her voice was flawless in this era(Charmbracelet Tour and etc). What’s Christina’s excuse?
Seems to me that she was straining to possibly keep her tone low enough to not hurt anyone’s ears. Because face it, if she blew it out the way she can she’d do just that in a closed space. Even with the graveled strained sound she still slayed. But all of that aside, being negative and hateful for no other purpose than to be just that shows the kind of person you are. This is the first time I’ve seen this site due to tumblr and to be honest, it’s not a site I’d ever visit again on my own. People that live to put others down aren’t the type of people I’d like to keep up with. Good luck discovering what’s more important in this world than some stupid blog with your uneducated opinions.

Well a lot of the music blogs and fans seem to like the skit and the fun factor. However we aren’t all vocal experts like Trent so pooh on us I guess.
Everything was fine except the chorus. If she would work on singing that part instead of yelling it, she’d be okay. But really, other than the chorus, she sounded great.
That awkward moment Jimmy Fallon sounds as good as you.
She sounds fine to me.
Christina has got to work on her high-belting. She sounded fine until she tried to belting the chorus.
I think all those years of over-singing and singing from her throat have finally caught up to her. Her belts sounds, so forced and uncontrolled. However, this skit was funny and enjoyable.
