When it was first announced that the 2012 Vh1 Divas show would honor the legacy Whitney Houston, excitement erupted as music fans from across the web nominated their favourite artists to perform at the show. However, their cries fell on deaf ears as the producers have selected a group of dreadfully lackluster acts.
Set to air live on December 16th at 9pm ET, Vh1 Divas will include performances by Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks. The festivities will be hosted by Adam Lambert, who is ironically a better singer than all of the women on the bill, and will also pay tribute to the late Donna Summer.
Viewers of the Vh1 Diva show can expect the listed acts to perform Dance music hits throughout the night for what has been deemed the Divas Dance Party. The real thrill will be experienced as fans wait to see if Ciara sings live, Cyrus remains on-key or if Rowland finishes a song without gasping for air.

So, with all the real divas in the industry who have the voices to handle a Houston or Summer song, these are the best choices that the Vh1 producers could muster? Why by the grace of the morning sun is Ciara on this setlist? The last time I checked, this Vh1 Divas show is a tribute to Houston and not Janet Jackson!
This Vh1 Divas lineup can’t get any worse. The promoters should just call it a Vh1 Divas tribute to the Disney Channel and hire the a few rejects from ‘The X Factor (US)’ to join the show. Excuse me while I go cancel my cable subscription.
