Sales Predictions: Rihanna’s ‘Unapologetic’ To Debut At #1

    Written by Trent | Filed under Charts,Kelly Clarkson,Keyshia Cole,Rihanna
    Rihanna Unapologetic TheLavaLizard

The cover of Rihanna’s new album, ‘Unapologetic’.

Rihanna has scored eleven #1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and broken countless records but a chart-topping set on the Billboard 200 has always eluded her. Now, seven albums into her short career, sales predictions indicate that the drought will finally end as ‘Unapologetic’ will debut at the summit of the lineup.

‘Unapologetic’ is expected to enter the Billboard 200 at #1 next week with 240K-260K copies sold. Those figures far exceed the 207K copies that her former fastest-selling album, ‘Loud’, posted upon its debut in November 2010. You’re probably excited for more Rihanna news so click this sexy orange link and read my review of ‘Unapologetic’.

Keyshia Cole, on the other hand, won’t be as fortunate as her Pop music counterpart. Her ‘Woman to Woman’ album will debut at the low end of the Billboard 200 top 10 with 75K-85K. That’s right, the LP will sell little over half of the 128K copies than its predecessor, ‘Calling All Hearts’, sold in its opening week in December 2010.

Finally, Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Greatest Hits – Chapter 1′ is on track to sell a modest 45-50K copies. The compilation is the ‘American Idol’ alum’s first hits set since her debut on the show over ten years ago. Don’t you just feel old by reading that sentence?

Watch the video for Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ – the lead single from ‘Unapologetic’ – below:

Wait it’s a sad day for music because Rihanna got her first number one album? Please clarify because this comment just sounds like pure hate.

That’s because her marketing strategy isn’t focused on just one market. Rihanna is about getting paid everywhere in the world as opposed to getting paid in just one place. So…it was probably all a part of the plan.

Remember, people in Switzerland, Finland, France, the UK and all sorts of places on earth are totally slayed by her. Places that Xtina can’t even fill a KFC, Rihanna can fill a stadium.

So as much as we shade her for not being this major US-market juggernaut, her accomplishments everywhere else on earth practically negate her US failures.

It is what it is, I suppose.

Finally a #1 Album r RiRi. So proud of her. Despite what is said about her, she works hard – her work ethic is not to be played with. Hoepfully this hushes the naysayers and those shading her even if just a little, for not having a #1 Album.

I mean, if Britney Spears has #1 albums galore, it makes sense that Rihanna should have one as well.

“Real music” died a long time ago, Rihanna’s achievement does nothing to solidify this. The haters really need to just let go and accept that it is what it is.

I still feel bad for Brandy though…she’s not even ON the charts anymore is she? What a shame. Such a good album, and it’s going to go double paper clip at best…

I’m talking about her visibility in the public as in appearances, not a commercial or anything like that. When I say her promo should’ve been better, I mean that she should’ve made more appearances to let people know that she had an album coming out.

It took a jumbo and a mini tour

She performed in The U.S on SNL, did a ten minute Ellen interview, Did the 777tour in new york (today), covered vogue, and brought journalists on a promo tour.

        Wow what huge promo.

Damn, well gotta give her credit. She came for Janet’s 10, Whitney’s 11 now Madges 12. Think MJ will be nxt followed by Miss Mimi’s 18. Bey needs a Hit fast cuz I think Rhi snatched her wig long time, lol, however Bey will always have stage presence over Rhi.

A bunch of sad bitter Rihanna haters gathered in an article about yet another accomplishment she adds to her career of only 7 years. Do you haters ever get tired of whining about how untalented and undeserving and overexposed Rihanna is while she keeps making gains? If she is so horrible, why are even more people buying her albums when she releases a new one every year? And why does every album she drops annually also consistently go at least platinum alone in the US unlike many of her peers who are struggling? Why does she have 12 #1 singles if she so horrible and can’t sing a note and a disgrace to music? Your opinions do not define what music is or should be. Opinions or opinions. There not facts. Records and statistics are facts. She would not have come this far without enough people enjoying her music along the way. Just because you don’t like something, it doesn’t mean that it is wrong for others to like it. Majority rules and that’s why Rihanna keeps winning while pissing you guys off by dropping a platinum album every November with at least one #1 song in tote that she did not write or produce herself. Some of you are really upset, but you’ll have to deal. You can’t undo what this girl has managed to accomplish even if she were to start flopping for the rest of her career.
