Are you ready to watch a real singer-songwriter perform without the assistance of a backtrack? If that’s the case then Adele will foot the bill at the at the 2013 Academy Awards with the first ever live rendition of her critically acclaimed hit “Skyfall”.
Adele won big at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year when “Skyfall” was honored with the Best Original Song title. The tune is also nominated for the same trophy for the 85th annual Oscars ceremony, which will air live on February 24th.
Shockingly, despite its commercial and critical success, Adele has never performed “Skyfall” live! So, how does she feel about singing it for the first time at the Oscars, which will air in over 225 countries around the globe?
“It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again,” Adele stated via an official statement. “It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”
