In a rare moment, Cissy Houston beams on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’.

Throughout her life, people have made excuses for Whitney Houston’s drug abuse but her mother, Cissy Houston, has never been among them. In fact, Cissy rarely commented about her daughter’s issues, at least until last evening’s shocking episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter.

Cissy let the world know that Whitney had been addicted to cocaine long before meeting ex-husband Bobby Brown. In fact, Whitney’s “twin” brother, Michael Houston, actually took responsibility for introducing her to drugs in the mid-1980s and he regrets that moment to this day.

Aside from drug talk, Cissy also addressed the rumours that Whitney was involved in a homosexual relationship with her former assistant Robyn. Yet, Cissy maintained that she had no knowledge of any such arrangement but made it clear that she would not have tolerated it in the least.

Cissy’s Next Chapter interview was used to cross-promote her new book, Remembering Whitney, which tells the story of her daughter’s tragic life. Watch the entire special below:
