Iggy Azalea recently signed a new record deal with Island Def Jam and she hasn’t wasted any time with jumpstarting her career. As the official followup to her first The New Classic single, “Work”, Azalea has issued another club-ready song called “Bounce”, which has all the makings of a summer hit.
The video for “Bounce” will debut on May 5th. Wisely, the single will only be promoted in the UK where Azalea has thus far enjoyed impressive airplay gains on the local radio circuit. Until she accomplishes similar success in the US, “Work” will remain the main offering in that territory.
Listen to Azalea’s “Bounce” below:
It’s quite understandable that Azalea wants to be accepted by street level Hip-Hop fans but her fake accent is repulsive. In fact, as a white Australian woman, I consider it to be the radio equivalent to a person in black face; a modern take on 1950s pre-Civil Rights movement racism. Obviously, that is not Azalea’s intention but she should understand how her actions may be viewed by some people. So, lose the accent, Azalea.
