Pink is one of the most successful touring artists in the world, she is a brilliant singer and dancer, and she has sold millions of albums. Yet, the diva never gets the acknowledgement she deserves on the blogosphere. I really doubt that she cares about that, though, because she gets praise where it counts most – on the US charts.
Rising to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week was Pink’s “Just Give Me a Reason (Ft. Nate Ruess)”. The song has become the singer 4th such hit on the lineup, following “Lady Marmalade (with Mya, Lil Kim & Christina Aguilera)” (2001), “So What” (2008) and “Raise Your Glass” (2010).
“Just Give Me a Reason” sold another 283K downloads this week for a total of 1.64 million to date. Additionally, it garnered 97 million audience impressions at radio (up a staggering 20%) and 4.6 million online streams (up 16%). Note: Pink didn’t need crazy fans attacking people on the web or media propaganda calling her “King P” to get a hit.
