Emeli Sande and Amber

Mariah Carey wasn’t the only diva to perform on the season finale of American Idol this evening. Three of her biggest fans – Emeli Sande, Jessie J and Jennifer Hudson – all hit the stage to surprise the viewers of the show by singing their hits alongside the standout contestants.

First up was Sande, who belted her hit song “Next to Me” with Amber Holcomb and scored some much needed airtime on the US. Next was Hudson who roared onto the stage as she tried her best to drown out Candice Glover, who easily held her own and out-sang the Oscar-winner in every way during “Inseparable”. Finally, Jessie J and Angie Miller rocked out to “Domino” as the crowd enjoyed their exciting showing.
