Today is a very special day here on The Lava Lizard: it’s the our second anniversary! That’s right, I launched this experiment exactly two years ago and since that time, it has continued to evolve as a platform that provokes thought and challenges the dominant perceptions of the music industry.

Trini Trent, Music Minute, Flaming Features, Boiling Points, Way Back Wednesday and Burning Up are just a few of the many original features that has set The Lava Lizard apart from the average blogs, and we are only just getting started. Of course, none of this would have been possible without you!

Each of you have supported The Lava Lizard by reading, commenting and sharing the content, regardless of whether we all share similar views on different events in popular culture. It was just a year ago that the site was averaging less than thirty comments a week and now, many articles score north of one hundred responses.

So, thank you to each and every one of you for helping The Lava Lizard to stand as one of the few sites that not only report the news, but also share informed opinions and interpretations about the entertainment world. As we prepare to welcome new interns into the fold and say goodbye to Mally – he is actually starting his own site – I am excited to see where we go from here!
