Hate him or love him, Jay-Z is certainly a very clever businessman. Instead of fighting the power of social media in an attempt to maintain some extent of secrecy for his music, the rapper has full embraced it and allowed the general public full access to the video shoot for “Picasso Baby”.
Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week with over 527K copies sold. With little promotion beyond a series of Samsung Galaxy commercials, the record also spawned his 20th top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100, “Holy Grail (Ft. Justin Timberlake)”, and will remain at the top of the album chart next week.
