Sevyn Streeter belts a tune.

Sevyn Streeter is slowly making a name for herself on the industry circuit, even as her mentor, Chris Brown, faces serious legal woes. Appearing at Atlantic Records’ R&B Live show in New York City earlier this week, the songbird performed her own singles as well as covers of her favourite tunes.

Both of Streeter’s songs, “I Like It” and ” “It Won’t Stop”, were in the lineup at R&B Live. However, the show really picked up when she performed her cover of Aaliyah’s “Come Over”, Kelly Rowland’s “Gone”, Brown’s “Fine China” and Ariana Grande’s “The Way”. Streeter actually co-wrote the last of those hits, which was originally intended for Jordin Sparks.

Streeter will release her debut album later this year. Watch her R&B Live set below:
