A slicked back Justin Timberlake

Shortly after Ariana Grande warms up the audience of the 2013 MTV VMA pre-show, another of this year’s leading chart forces with hit the stage at the main event. Justin Timberlake has been announced as the latest superstar to join the lineup of stars for the show, which will air live on August 25.

In addition to his six nominations, Timberlake will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMA, set to be hosted at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Other performers scheduled to appear at the event include Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Timberlake will release his The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 album on September 30. Watch the video for the lead single, “Take Back the Night”, below:
