Katy Perry burns Blue Ivy’s wig

Lions and tigers and Katy Perry, oh my! As Pop music fans ready themselves for the arrival of her upcoming Prism album, the superstar has announced the release date of the set’s lead single, “Roar”, which will impact both radio and digital retailers in mid-August.

Reportedly crafted by Dr Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee,”Roar” will premiere on Top 40/Mainstream radio and iTunes on August 12. The song is first offering from Perry’s fourth studio album, Prism, which is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 22; just 3 days before her 29th birthday on October 25.

Perry’s previous album, Teenage Dream, has sold over 2.74 million copies in the US as the 10th highest-selling album of the 2010-2019 decade to date. The record generated 5 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, making Perry the second artist in history to achieve that feat, following Michael Jackson with Bad in 1988.
