When Ashanti claimed that BraveHeart would finally arrive on July 30, I indicated that the chances of that happening with slimmer than her vocal range. Unfortunately for the few people who care, I have been proven right as the singer has announced yet another delay…on the album’s release date.
Poor Ashanti. Despite releasing several singles during the last year, the singer-songwriter has yet to score a hit and reports now indicate that her BraveHeart album has been delayed yet again. However, before she completely slips from relevance, she has released a new song called “I Got It”.
I won’t believe that Ashanti’s BraveHeart has been released until I have a copy of the album on iTunes but that doesn’t mean that her fans should be prevented from dreaming. Providing more false hope, the singer-songwriter unveiled the official track list of the set, which is scheduled to arrive on July 30th.
“In the year 2525 there are struggling singers with the will to survive” – Ashanti’s numerous album delays have inspired me to write a song and I got carried away. However, we really won’t have to wait that long for her to release her BraveHeart record because she confirmed its due date for mid-summer.
If Ashanti ever scores a hit, the clouds will part and fireworks will shoot from the peaks of the Disneyland castle. Until that time, however, we will continue to watch her struggle as the general public ignores her music as they did her new song, “She Can’t (Like Mine)”, which was released yesterday.
The end of Ashanti’s relationship with Nelly was the best thing that could have happened to her career. Channeling the pain of such an emotional upset, the singer-songwriter has expressed her feelings in the new video for her latest BraveHeart single, “Never Should Have”.
Everybody has a calling in life but some people take longer than others to find their true purpose. At least, that’s what Oprah Winfrey preaches and there are several singers who could benefit from that advice.
