The-Dream is known for his wafting high falsetto in studio recordings but his live performances have always been subpar at best. However, when the singer-songwriter appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with Gary Clark Jr. last evening, he showcased improvement, which was probably inspired by his terrible album sales.
The-Dream’s own music isn’t very successful but the material that he has crafted for other artists ranks him one of the most prolific hit-makers of the last decade. The-Dream will release his IV Play album and in addition to his “Turnt” collaboration with Beyonce, the high-voiced crooner has joined forces with another Destiny’s Child member. Kelly Rowland appears on the Da Internz-produced “Where Have You Been”, which The-Dream describes as “signature R&B.”
