Bruno Mars’ single cover for ‘When I Was Your Man’.

Bruno Mars has one of the best selling albums on the US charts today and a string of hits on the side. This week, the singer-songwriter continued to make moves toward claiming his 5th #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 as “When I Was Your Man” inched closer to the tally’s peak.

“When I Was Your Man” advanced to #2 on the Hot 100 this week thanks to 142 million audience impressions (up 8%), 235K digital downloads (up 9%) and 4.6 million online streams (up 1%). Additionally, the song notched the top spot on the Pop Songs airplay chart, thus earning him the most leaders among solo male artists.

Mars better watch his back, though, because Pink is also speeding toward the top of the Hot 100. Her Nate Ruess collaboration, “Just Give Me a Reason”, jumped one spot to #5 on the chart this week by leapfrogging Rihanna’s “Stay (Ft. Mikky Ekko)” and becoming her 8th top 5 hit.
