Emelie Sande’s ‘Our Version of Events’ was released in the US yesterday and she made an appearance on Yahoo’s ‘The New Now’ to commemorate the event. The artistic songbird performed an acoustic set, which includes renditions of ‘Next to Me’, ‘Daddy’ and ‘My Kind of Love’, and also chatted about her music.
Citing Nina Simone, Mariah Carey, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston as major influences on her sound, Sande reflected on her entry into the music industry and how she developed into the artist. She also explained the cultural differences between her hometown in Scotland and the rest of the world.
