JoJo’s First Single To Be A ‘Disaster’

Written by Trent | Filed under Jojo

JoJo may have just jinxed her ‘Jumping Trains’ album before anybody got the chance to hear it. The singer, who joined Interscope Records following a bitter legal battle with her former label, Da Family Entertainment, has revealed that the first single from the project is called ‘Disaster’ but she has no idea when it will be released.

JoJo broke the news via Twitter yesterday that ‘Disaster’ is indeed “coming soon”. However, she does not know when the track will hit the airwaves because the her team is still trying to figure it out.

Although it is good to finally see JoJo making strides toward reviving her career, I am admittedly concerned that this might be yet another false start for her ‘Jumping Trains’ project. Following several delays, legal issues and her randomly released ‘Can’t Take That Away From Me’ mixtape, the buzz for the album has almost completely faded.

Simply, if JoJo wants to rebuild her fans’ confidence in her as a viable artist then she needs to provide solid information at every opportunity instead of just a “coming soon”. Indeed, if her album doesn’t hit stores soon then her career won’t be ‘jumping trains’; rather it will be laying on the tracks while being crushed by them.

    Thoughts?

I agree about her not giving her fans enough information. There is always half infomation and things are always pushed back. She needs to be more involved with her fans more so they can help her.

I agree Trent….Im a songwriter that has been working on JoJo upcoming project for over a year and half now…and the album I can tell has gone through several changes….her inner team is a mess and the head A&R over her project is misguided and clueless to what songs to finalize for the tracklisting….JoJo is an amazing talent to work with in the studio but her team and and A&R really need to get it together over there

Even though the album process is moving slowly, you guys have to keep in mind that the industry is NOT what it use to be 10 years ago. Back then, an artist would drop a single, and then, less than 3 months later, a full LP was presented for listeners. But, the music business has abruptly changed within the past 3 years or so. Now, artists are doing singles, because the record sales are super low and increasingly dropping because of the instant readiness of the internet (leaked tracks and pre-released albums). Singers are still in the studio cutting tracks all the way until 2 months or before an actual release date is given to the public. With JoJo’s case, everything is moving slower despite the popular demand from her loyal followers on the internet.

In a way, I’m extremely excited that we have things like Youtube and entertainment blogs to keep us posted on the work because without, JoJo could have definitely faded to black. No matter how talented she maybe, we’re in a different era were talent is overshadowed by bright wigs, mediocre vocals and drag inspired fashion. Shameful, I know, but JoJo is the way. The way to display her determination with sheer hard work. The way she remains dedicated to her music, because when things are tough like they are now, it’s very easy to give up and give in. But, she still stands ready to burn a fire in the hearts and minds of her listeners. I know that “the train” maybe delayed, but that doesn’t mean it’s not coming. You guys gotta be patient and have faith, SHEESH! You little shits are overly zealous and will leave, but I’ll wait on the stoop with a crooked smile on my face when the train gets here. :p

9, that sucks, and I bet you’re right…….. I would love to hear what you penned for her. I think she needs to go back to the music that we heard on “JoJo”…..

there actually is a release date for the single. it hits radio airwaves Auguest 29th (tomorrow) and it’s being released for digital download on September 6th. that was announced shortly after she put out the title of the single on Twitter. so maybe, people should just pay more attention instead of being so negative. the album is going to be released, you should just have a little faith in JoJo. it’s harder for her than it is for anybody else. if you’re a true fan, you could actually wait this out, like I have for the past 5 years. I’m excited for Jumping Trains. this time is way different than any other time she’s said the album will be released soon. there are actually release dates now.
