Ke$ha is definitely not high on the list of music’s great pioneers but she just might etch her name into the history books with her new album. In a surprising statement to the Calgary Herald, the singer/songwriter has proclaimed that she is on a mission to “reinvent Pop music”.
Ke$ha also confirmed that the LP will indeed hit stores in May as previously indicated by producer Dr. Luke. The only other details that she has thus far revealed about the record is that it is inspired by 1970s Rock & Roll.

It’s great to see Ke$ha setting such lofty goals for herself but her visions of grandeur might prove to be her downfall. All of her music to date has been laced with thick auto-tune and focused on themes about getting naked and drunk so it is difficult to take her seriously.
Furthermore, following the erroneous remarks of Rihanna’s team that her ‘Loud’ LP would match magnitude of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ - ironically, an album that redefined Pop music – few would truly expect any act of this generation to achieve such expectations. On the bright side, however, there is no harm in trying!

whatever !
I don’t expect much from her !
The only one who can reinvent pop music is Madonna !
Madonna? when was the last time she released anything revolutionary? scrap that when was the last time she released anything good?
What the new generation needs to understand is that the Prince’s,Michael Jackson’s,Madonna’s etc won’t hell bent on trying to get their names in the history book or hell bent on breaking records or winning Grammy’s; they just focus on their art and their music, and the rest followed. I saw an interview with Earth Wind and Fire and they said when they started the record company didn’t want them to sell millions of records early but rather wanted them to build a fan base and build their sound
I really like Ke$ha and all…but ppl need to stop making BOLD statements. Rihanna- “thriller 2.0″ um..yaa. PTFO to that. ANyways…. i’ll wait to hear the album and judge once its out
I like Ke$ha lil dirty ass

Another Rihanna reference. You so live in her pussy.
True, her music is very heavy on auto-tune and there doesn’t seem to be much substance to it but think about it, isn’t that what the public wants? Teens today just want a good beat to dance to accompanied by simple lyrics about partying all weekend and that’s exactly what Ke$ha is giving us. Honestly, she’s a genius.
@Addie Ann : SO true! You hardly see any songs like ballads, just songs with great beats: topping the charts, for eg. Party Rock Anthem, Moves Like Jagger, S & M, Last Friday Night, I Wanna Go… Only Adele seems to be hitting no. 1….then again..her mixed version of someone like you is the one getting more airplay.
Ke$ha can sing though: The Harold song is a little proof of that and who knows? maybe she will redefine pop…just have to wait and see.
[...] However, don’t expect to hear this version of ‘Sleazy’ on Ke$ha’s next studio album. Indeed, the LP, which has been earmarked for a spring release, is inspired by 1970s Rock & Roll and will reflect the wild entertainer’s attempts at reinventing Pop music. [...]
