Leona Lewis Debuts ‘Glassheart’ Title Track At G-A-Y

Leona Lewis surprised patrons of club G-A-Y in London last evening when she debuted the title track of her upcoming ‘Glassheart’ album. This showing came just hours after the songbird performed a stunning rendition of the record’s lead single, ‘Collide’, on the popular UK game show ‘Red or Black?’.

This song basically confirmed previous reports that Simon Cowell was attempting to make Lewis more competitive while maintaining elements of her earlier work by having her sing ballads over the beats of Dance tracks. However, while the idea does indeed look interesting on paper, the results have thus far fallen flat.
Lewis has a beautiful voice and is an incredibly complex vocalist but she lacks the grit in her performances to take the music to the ultimate level. For instance, her songs sound quite stale when compared to Jennifer Hudson’s ‘Night of Your Life’ collaboration with David Guetta.
Still, we have heard very little from Lewis’ ‘Glassheart’ album and it is far too soon to judge the LP in its entirety. Moreover, the studio version of this track may very well be an infectious tune so let us be patient and hope for the best.
