Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ entered the Billboard 200 at #1 last week with an astounding 964K copies sold. However, despite remaining at the top spot, the album exhibited another tremendous shift in sales after exhibiting a whopping 77% sales decrease.
‘Tha Carter IV’ sold over 219K copies in the last 7 days and accumulated a new total of 1.18 million copies as the year’s 3rd highest-selling album in the US after just 2 weeks. Closely behind at #2 was Adele’s ’21′, which sold yet another 121K units for a sum of 3.42 million copies sold in the US alone as the bestseller of 2011 thus far.
On the Billboard Hot 100, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera reclaimed the #1 position with ‘Moves Like Jagger’. Moreover, Rihanna landed has landed her 4th top 10 single on the tally from her ‘Loud’ album as ‘Cheers (Drink To That)’ advanced from #11 to #10.

I think it’s pretty normal to have that big of a drop in sales…I mean be sold basically 1 mil the first week. I still haven’t gotten that album… I want to though!
