2011 American Music Awards: Nominations

The 2011 American Music Awards nominations have been announced! The show will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on November 20th at 8pm ET.
Dominating the list of nominees this year is Adele with 4 nominations for Artist of the Year, Favourite Female Artist (Pop/Rock), Favourite Artist (Adult Contemporary) and Favourite Album (Pop/Rock). Other artists who garnered multiple nominations included Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and The Band Perry, who all scored 3 nominations each.
Thus far, Katy Perry and Pitbull have both been listed as performers at this year’s event. See the full list of nominations below:

Is this the award show people can vote for? if so i go with justin bieber, lady gaga, nicki minaj, taylor swift, rihanna and chris brown. they fans/stans always come out when it time to vote for anything.

These awards are a joke,they’re like a game for stans lol.I mean obviously Adele dominated this year,but Lady Gaga will possibly defeat her cause she has her psychotic hard working stans.
Is LOUD a RnB album? I don’t think so…they just wanted to pit her against Chris in that category for drama. smh

@Tracie…her album charted on the R/B chart…has nothin to do with Chris and his drama
There were plenty of R&B albums that really could’ve been nominated instead of Loud which is a Pop album and F.A.M.E. in which half of the songs were Pop/Dance songs. Albums such as Late Nights & Early Mornings, Calling All Hearts, All I Want is You, The Light of the Sun, Love Me Back, Libra Scale and No Boys Allowed. Hell, I would’ve nominated Basic Instinct even though it flopped, it is still an R&B album. So what that Loud charted on the R&B charts, it had only 3 Urban based songs: Skin, What’s My Name? and Raining Men. We all know for fact that if Keyshia, Monica, Fantasia, Jill or Marsha had songs or albums that charted on the Pop charts, they still would be nominated in the R&B field
@Antonio F.A.M.E is mixture of dance, pop and R&B, but it’s still heavily an R&B album. It’s been very successful aswell it deserves a nomination. But ur right a out Loud, that album is no where near R&B. I don’t know why she’s nominated in r&b and rock/pop. So fooollashhh
Yay Team Breezy!!! I will be voting for Chris. He deserves it. Im glad he is getting the recognition. FAME was an amazing album, even if he doesnt win, Im still PROUD TO STAN!!
