Mary J. Blige and Perez Hilton made an unusual pairing at the gossip blogger’s ‘One Night in New York City!’ event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last evening. In fact, the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul was one of the last people that many people expected to support the often derisive Perez who often clashes with Urban artists.

However, Blige’s appearance at the event is only one of surprises that she provided in recent weeks. Indeed, when she released the tracklist of her upcoming ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)’, she set media outlets on ablaze after it was revealed that she had recorded a duet entitled ‘Loving a Woman’ with Beyonce for the record.
