Justin Bieber has been heralded by many of his peers as the second coming of Michael Jackson but on last night’s episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ he demonstrated that he is someone entirely different. In fact, during his medley of ‘Never Say Never’ and ‘Fa La La’ with Boyz II Men, his nasal and monotone voice was the polar opposite of the late King of Pop’s colourful high notes.
‘Fa La La’ is included on Bieber’s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ album, which hit stores yesterday. The LP also includes a cover of ‘The Christmas Song’, on which Usher is featured, and a duet with Mariah Carey on her pervasive classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.
Watch Bieber and Boyz II Men perform on ‘Dancing’ below:
I honestly do not see the amazing potential that Usher as well as countless other artists claimed to have observed in Bieber. His vocal performances are grossly underwhelming and his dancing is average at best. Truly, Chris Brown and Omarion were far more impressive at Bieber’s age – 17 years old – than he has exhibited thus far.
Perhaps Bieber’s marketing team are simply compiling a list of cosigns from more experienced acts so that he could manipulate the public’s perception of his ability with clever PR. Indeed, If Bieber is the best that this generation has to offer then I fear for our future.

well said and i didn’t even dare to watch the performance
I hope for Justin’s sake that when puberity is over that his voice gets better.
Thank god though that he has gotten taller. For a while there i thought he was going to always stay short. Hopefully he continues to grow in height and in talent.
His dancers though…………..are beyond talent. All those tricks? DAMN! and BOYZ II Men – are still the most vocally talented group ever imo. The way Wanya sings in that group……….
omg THOSE VOCALS! Jesus Christ! Boyz II Men should’ve been the headliners lol
I didn’T know it was possible to just completely lose your singing voice like he has. Wow! And I’ve thought fir a long time that he has an excellent PR team, cause they have put him with big stars, had them endorse him so now everyone thinks he is something that he clearly is not.
I’ve never though he was anything special but this goes to show the bullshit that is the music industry. His vocals are pathetic.
Billboard already trashed Bieber’s cover of the Mariah duet, saying how bad Justin sounded. People are taking notice of his new ‘voice’ since the change.
@Jess
I agree 100%. Some of the so call artists today is really pathetic.
Also Boys 2 Men was greatttttttt
this little boy turns my stomach. he is just going around killing songs and people are letting him. I gotta praise Mariah a deluxe release on mc2u is brilliant
“But this is my destinYYYyyyyYYy…” DEAD he sounded like a goat -sorry Rihanna, he can keep this title HE SUCKS AT SINGING. No more duets, no more enablers for this kid please! (I’m talking to you also Mariah!)
The Christmas songs I’ve heard from this album so far have been a mess & AIWFCIY is still worse than this performance.
“The second coming of Michael Jackson” ??? HE COULD NEVER
Agree w/Trent. I never understood the hype and that is why I don’t believe the hype. This young man is not the “next” MJ because MJ at his age could sing and dance his a** off. He was a perfectionist, there is no way he would have done a performance like this. The media tries to make superstars and unfortunately people keep falling for BS. Boys II Men sound fantastic as usual Love them!!
Totally agree trent. His vocals were basic at best. I love his song with Boys II Men because of Boys II Men. Plus, like you said in your previous post, he needs to stop pushing his vocal runs when it doesnt come naturally to him.
That performance took me back to 2001 when boy bads were ruling the charts.
I like his songs with CB though but people need to stop gassing him up.
He’s the second coming of Nick Carter MJ.
Justin Bieber is a little cutie and that’s why these little girls tolerate his voice and buy his music. He needs a serious vocal coach who actually cares about him getting better and will actually teach him something. Boyz II Men and Mariah (sorry Trent) are clearly desperate for relevancy amongst teens that they would work with JB cause the boy is terrible. I understand that they all can make some good coins with him but their dignity and legacy is more important than some good coins. And whoever said JB was the second coming of MJ needs to take a seat in the corner facing the wall, that statement is grossly careless.
he needs an amazing vocal coach to help his future!!
I love how Boyz 2 Men wasn’t paying Justin any mind lol. I dare they put them in the back, such disrespect
I totally agree with you Trent and pretty much everyone in else in here. Besides his looks an obvious appeal to little girls, I just don’t get the hype. His voice is atrocious and has yet to mature. His music is the definition of basic and he never delivers a good performance. I just can’t for the life of me see why this lil twerp has become so huge with his lack of talent.
I really think his association with Usher has opened a lot of doors for him, especially when it comes to him working with urban artist. Most black people wouldn’t pay him any attention if it wasn’t for his association with Usher. Seeing legends legends like Boyz II Men & Mariah lower themselves by working him just turns my stomach. Like someone else said before me, it’s obvious they just did it to capitalize off his popularity because they can’t honestly believe this lil boy is talented. SMH.
I totally agree with Trent and all y’all, JB sucked sooooo bad. Talk about his terrible monotone voice, lame vocal runs and just overall lack of talent. How dare they say he’s the next Michael Jackson! that’s offensive.
