Mary J. Blige Rates Beyonce & Drake On Punchbowl TV

Written by Trent | Filed under Beyonce, drake,Mary J. Blige

Before Mary J. Blige left the UK, she sat down with Punchbowl TV to discuss the development of her ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)’ album. During the interview, the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul gave insight into how her ‘Love a Woman’ duet with Beyonce was crafted as well as why she respects Drake, with whom she collaborated on her ‘Mr. Wrong‘ single, as an artist.

Blige, who hosted her ‘Unstaged’ concert in Los Angeles last evening, also noted that Act 2 of the ‘My Life II’ series will debut in May. Act 1 will hit stores in the US and the UK on November 21st.

Watch Blige’s interview with Punchbowl TV below:

Mary could’ve said no to the Beyonce duet if she didn’t like the song or the idea of having Beyonce on her album and choose among the 50 other songs she has recorded for it ! just like she didn’t use Foxy Brown vocals on ” Enough Cryin’ ” and replaced them by Brooke Lynn .

” Love A Woman ” is the song that has generated the most buzz around the album so i guess she’s happy she didn’t send the song back .

I like Mary & Beyonce but they were both very slick with this. In this video Mary came off as basically saying i didn’t wanna use Beyonce on my album to sell it. What was the point in her saying she’s not a whack artist, she can sing? She already knew Beyonce could sing. Lately she has been stressing the fact that people wanna work with her. Beyonce wants to take credit for the song because it’ll be a huge hit, and this is her way of collaborating with Mary, and she’ll get some credit for it. All Mary should have said was that Beyonce sent the song to her and she wanted to stay on it.

Mary also said that she didn’t really wanna do any collabos so whats the deal with the Rick Ross & Drake song then???
