Did you know that Rihanna’s biggest hit on the Billboard Hot 100 wasn’t actually her song?
The most successful tune that Rihanna had on the Hot 100 to date has been T.I’s ‘Life Your Life’, on which she appeared as a featured act. Despite the fact that the track spent only 6 weeks at #1 on the lineup compared to Rihanna’s biggest hit as a lead artist, ‘Umbrella‘, which led the chart for 7 weeks, the former remained in the top 10 for 18 weeks. On the other hand, ‘Umbrella’ was only in the top 10 for 14 weeks.
Ironically, both of Rihanna’s biggest hits were achieved by appearing on other’s artists’ songs. Her 2nd more successful track was Eminem’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’ - #1 for 7 weeks – and ‘Umbrella’ was her 3rd best-performing tune.

waits for shade in 3..2..1…
not shade if it’s true.
I don’t see how this is a negative thing. As a featured performer on two top-billed rapper’s lead singles, Rihanna played a crucial role in taking them to the top. Simply put, her name is gigantic on the charts and she has a loyal following (I’m not talking about Rihanna Navy as much as I’m talking about the people who buy her singles).
She deserves a lot of credit for her star power. Say what you want, but she deserves kudos for that.
interesting fact but lets be honest…she might be the featured act, but all anyone really knows of this song is her hook “life ya life…ehhhh ehh ehhhh” her trademark eh eh yodeling ish. lol. i couldnt tell you one line from T.I. hahaha
Rihanna made that song a hit.
Aww Trent again sounds pressed
Let’s keep it real!! Rihanna really did make that song what it is today. I can’t even remember TI’s verse. The same thing goes with her other features. She has a signature sound and artists know that with her star quality, it’ll add a pop music feel to it and will become a hit (Run this town, love the way you lie, etc.) Oh and if you notice, at this year’s Grammy’s Eminem said in his exceptance speech that she made his album what is today (as far as sells), and TI said that Rihanna made the song what it is. Jay Z said the same thing when they won for Run This Town last year.
