Rihanna’s ‘Talk That That’ album won’t hit stores until November 21st but several tracks from the record have surfaced ahead of schedule. Among those songs was the Stargate-produced title track, which features her mentor Jay-Z.
The second official single from ‘Talk That Talk’, entitled ‘You Da One’, was released to radio yesterday. Rihanna’s supporters will be able to purchase the tune on iTunes at midnight on November 13th.
Listen to ‘Talk That Talk’ below:
Rihanna has often been heralded as the best hook artist in music today and she suited that role quite well on this record. However, the problem is that it is her song.
Jay-Z basically dominated the the first portion of the track and it sounded as though it was his tune. In fact, his delivery was so good on the beat that when Rihanna began making her usual noise, the urge to skip back to the beginning became almost overwhelming.
Thus far, none of the songs from the ‘Talk That Talk’ album have been very impressive. Rihanna has yet to exhibit any growth as an artist – vocally or musically – and she seems very comfortable resting in her at the top as she knows that almost everything she releases will be a hit.
Yet, as demonstrated by countless acts in the past – Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Madonna and most recently, Beyonce – success does not last forever. The moment that artists become complacent is the moment that they tumble. Rihanna may want to consider that fact the next time she is training her voice with her vocal coach via Skype.
LMAO at the gif tho… I listened to the album and I must say its not all that… Its just alright but its like I’ve heard it all before from her. When will she stop making these over powering annoying nasal sounding songs? The “ballads” on the album; farewell, where have you been ect are really annoying cause she doesn’t have the vocal strength to pull off the high notes. Rihannas Navy needs to face it. She’s a one trick pony and is only good for dance/pop music although I like her more urban songs like Man Down but they flop soooo… what happens when pop is no longer todays music. What will she do? *sips tea*
This album is close enough to garbage. There’s only a few songs worth listening to #ohwell maybe next time
um i feel bad for her although i can’t stand most of her fans i come across i wont participate in the leaking of this album nor will i listen to the leak cuz i wouldn’t like if some one did that to my favs gaga mariah or bey although they did it with 4 i still wont do it to riri
I turned it off as soon as I heard the opening music so I guess it’s not fair that I voted it a miss. A lot of people like machine music but I just can’t stand it. Sorry, I’m not a good judge.
The song is actually quite boring. It sounds like Rude Boy Part 2 warmed up in the microwave. *yawn*
The track itself is the real problem. Mediocre production and a lazy chorus
why are u guys feeling guilty that the song ‘leaked’. i believe the artist/team leak the albums. how is it possible that everyone gets their songs leak. c’mon think about it. this has become a normal routine now.
How has a woman who is atop Forbes (again), with an album that debuted #1 round the world, who’s tour is among the highest grossing (check Ticketmaster), who’s performance this year (as with every year) are critically acclaimed, and who’s music is MUSIC; with vocal prowess and actual instruments complacent??
Explain to me in detail, so I can understand. Beyonce has consistently been at the top of her game. You are just one of the basic folk who’ve been condition to rejoice at the overpopulation of bubblegum spit-n-chew music that is saturating the charts, recklessly abandoning REAL music.
For those reasons, your opinion is irrelevant and worthless. You don’t deserve this platform!
Oh my gosh, meant to post my name as ‘Beyonka’, not ‘Beyonce’ haha, my bad.
This sounds incomplete………..
I was looking at the GIF and pressed ‘hit’ in the poll .. forgot this post was about rihanna. Monique >>
This song is meh. Jay-z is so overrated.
The song is so lazy! I really expected the content to be different as well. Talk that Talk is usually used as a phrase of being cocky and this is NOT what I expected with the song, especially with the album covers. Just lazy all around! Did Ester Dean write this?
Sounds like another hit for the whiners to bitch about “wah, why cant my fave have a #1 single” because your faves music obviously sucks
This is trash
you know one gonna talk about jay disrespectful verse huh
Download full album leaked
Hell no!!!! What the hell is up with Jay disrespectful part in the song & for Rihanna her voice is just horrible and like you all said lazy. I know that even some of her fans are downloading it for free because this is the worst CD Rihanna ever made. That’s my opinion
stay da fuck mad tbh! no one curr
I wonder who on here is mad tho. Is it because we voice OUR opinions?
um this sounds like rude boy 2011 mixed with wiz kalifas black n yelliw other than that its cute at the most
Don’t care for it. I don’t understand why if you dislike something and give your opinion, you have to be a hater! I always believe and still do, that everyone has a right to their own opinion!!
This song sounds incomplete
So Jay can make sure his stuff doesn’t leak but can do the same for his top girls. Things that make me go hmmm…
Anyhow the song is cool.
